Requirements for the Internship:

  • The intern should be able to speak Gujarati or Hindi.
  • No lodging or boarding facility is provided; intern has to make his/her own arrangements for the same.
  • The internship should be at least for two months or longer. The intern is expected to work for 8 hrs a day from Monday to Saturday.
  • Holidays will be allowed as per the Koshish-Milap trust rules, if students take extra leave, then will be required to compensate by working extra days.
  • We are very particular about regularity, honesty and sincerity of the work. The intern not following our rules may be dismissed.

There is neither financial compensation nor the fees towards the internship.

You may do internship with us in any of following three projects:

Education Project

Providing a formal education support to the primary school (KG to 5th grades) going Mujmahuda slum children. Our approach is summarized below:

  • Paying individual attention to all students
  • Treating with love and interacting with patience. No corporal punishment
  • Developing and using appropriate curriculum and reading materials
  • Develop and use teaching aids
  • Providing free teaching material to student
  • Extracurricular activities and educational tours
  • Involvement of parents
  • Sponsoring bright students for private schooling as needed

Our expectation from the intern:

  • To help in teaching and developing teaching material
  • Assisting in extracurricular activities or any other work related to education
  • Conduct survey related to the project. Compile and submit the results as guided by the supervisor.

Time: 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Saturday

Work place: Mujmahuda Slum, Near Akshar Chowk, Vadodara, India

Maximum number of interns accommodated: Two at a time

Health Project

OPD clinic is run inside Mujmahuda slum by a qualified Family Practitioner. At the clinic the medicines are dispensed, counseling is done for healthy lifestyle and preventive measures.

Our expectation from the intern:

  • To help doctor in running the clinic, counseling patients, etc.
  • Conduct survey related to the project. Compile and submit the results as guided by the supervisor.

Time: 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Monday to Saturday

Knowledge Sharing Platform Project

This platform www.novoi.org is intended to serve NGOs, volunteers, interns, donors and professionals interested in social work. It will provide an opportunity to share their experiences, facilitate multiplication of good work, minimize repetition of mistakes or duplication of efforts and strive for collective efforts. The website has databases for NGOs, Funding Sources, Government Schemes and Laws related to NGO work. It also has other sections like NGO Handbook, NGO related events, blogs, e-Magazine, etc. Like Wikipedia, it is free and open for interactive contribution.

Our expectation from the intern: To help in collecting database, manage blogs and e-Magazine, etc.

Time: 10 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday

Work place: 10 Ganga Park, Inside Pashbhai Park, Gotri Road, Near Natubhai Circle, Vadodara, India

Maximum number of interns allowed: One at a time
